Types of Cannabis That Increase Creativity

People have long enjoyed using cannabis for a wide variety of reasons. Some are for recreational purposes, others for medical ones. Some types of cannabis have been reported to help with creative thinking, others with stress relief and relaxation – itself a precursor, for some, to uncluttered thought processes. There are several types of cannabis that are known to stimulate creative thought and output.

Haze varieties

Haze strains are well known for their sativia genetics and lengthy blooming stage. In a good Haze, THC levels match those of the best cannabis varieties there are. Those who have tried quality Haze know what a soaring psychoactive experience it produces. The effect is almost always a very powerful one, and can allow the user to experience unparalleled euphoric mental release, as built up stress simply melts away. Many musicians, writers and creators assert that Haze is the solution they turn to, when requiring extra creativity.

One of the few negatives sometimes given for using Haze to increase one’s output of ideas and creative originality, is that it can occasionally have too powerful an effect for some who use it. This means that finding the "right" and optimal dose for each individual is particularly important. So, it is worth experimenting a little with quantities – working up slowly to the desired amount. If one smokes too much, the equivalent of creative comatose may occur - helpless and cheerful, but not conducive to the production of thoughts and ideas. For many creative thinkers, less is most certainly more, and even minimal usage will be enough to trigger new ideas.

The physical effects on the body may seem less obvious than the mental ones, but a good quality Haze will absolutely affect the brain with significant strength, and the effect can last for up to several hours.

Growing a good quality Haze variety is not too complicated, when in possession of solid and reliable seeds with good genetics; those will be ones that are easy to grow in either hydro, soil or coco fibre and give a plentiful crop. Smoking or vaping, in particular, is said to offer a truly outstanding experience.

Haze and Pure Sativia Seeds

Many people favour sativa seeds over other types. Its effects can be both cerebral and very psychedelic if grown from seeds with a high-quality genetic background. The sativa bud does not feel quite as firm as the rock-solid ones from a quality indica, but that has no bearing on quality or effectiveness. It is simply down to environment, as sativa varieties initially came from hot and humid tropical jungle areas. Buds and flowers often develop less densely to provide better airflow and reduce the risk of rot and mould setting in under sticky, damp and humid conditions. All of that aside, the experience of the high caused by a sativia variety can be truly astounding.

Very often, growers actually feel that it is sativia varieties which offer the best and most euphoric effects. The cerebral nature of the high it elicits is what is extremely valuable for those creative thinkers who seek an edge in inspiration, the forming of new ideas, or other new perspectives. Writers, artists, musicians, and other creators value sativa varieties because of this.

Certain ones, such as Orange Bud, have remained particularly popular for many decades after their release, due to the feel-good nature of the highs they give, which offer an exceptionally enjoyable experience. Often excellent, too, are the yields of long-blooming sativa varieties. It is worth keeping in mind that sativa seeds, like Haze, can bloom for a week or two longer than others; however, it is absolutely worth the wait.

Hybrid Cannabis Seeds

Although Haze and sativa strains are most often thought to enhance one’s creative output, many artists, writers and musicians also love the fast-onset of the high that is experienced with indica varieties. In order to achieve both, choosing a hybrid strain that uses a combination of a high quality indica with a solid acting sativa will bring the best of both worlds.  The result of this type of blend produces a hybrid which combines a pleasantly relaxing full-body effect, together with a significant cerebral one. These can come on quite quickly and powerfully, so many people need to pay attention to the optimal dosage. Starting with less is always the ideal way for beginners, especially as the stronger hybrid strains can actually be so potent, as to simply cause excessive sleepiness and stunt any possibilities for creativity or clarity of thought.

Cannabis Varieties Rich in CBD

Over the past few years, an intriguing trend has been in evidence: the continued fascination in the public consciousness with all things CBD, and most particularly, of cannabis seeds rich in it. When CBD products first hit the scene, they were generally considered to be of more interest or relevance to medical producers or those using it for health-related reasons. Nowadays, however, ever more recreational cannabis producers are enjoying CBD-rich varieties. They generally contain a 1: 1 ratio of THC: CBD. THC levels, and as a rule of thumb, do not exceed 10% at the maximum. This is about half the level of strong THC-rich varieties.

With decreased THC levels, the effect is gentler, smoother and elicits a physiological and mental feeling that does not interfere with one’s daily activities or affect one’s ability to think clearly. Perhaps most interestingly, and somewhat counter-intuitively, many people report that a lower THC content does not actually reduce their enjoyment of using it in any way. Indeed, there are a growing number of its proponents who explicitly prefer CBD-rich varieties because they allow for clearer thinking and less obvious psychoactive or physical side-effects. For creative thinkers, this allows for imaginative and clear thinking, without the heaviness of THC rich strains.

For those who have not yet done so, it is well worth trying CBD-rich varieties, as these are often very enjoyable and more suitable for daytime use by many people.

THC-Free, CBD Rich Varieties

Many cannabis enthusiasts revel in the THC-free effect for real, clear creative thinking. Although the idea of creative thinking without THC sounds almost like a contradiction, it is ever increasing in popularity. Interest in CBD – in a variety of forms - is now very high, and varieties that contain  about 15% CBD and barely THC are hugely popular. In general, THC levels in those are well under 1%. Whilst vaping or smoking these won’t cause any high, many do report a great sense of relaxation and overall calming full-body effects. There are those CBD fans who also say that they experience some mental clarity, too, as a result of using CBD. Not in any excessive or powerful way, but in a relaxing and calming one. Thus, for those people, this focused and peaceful feeling state is an ideal one to facilitate true creative thinking.
